I was born in the small town of Palestine, Texas, moving to Dallas in 2002. My parents are from Mexico and only have an elementary education. This Fall I will be the first woman in my entire family to attend a University. With a major in Psychology, my ultimate goal is to have my own practice as a Child Mental Health Therapist. Being an artist, I plan to incorporate music, art, theatre, and dance therapy into my practice. I am a promoter of the underserved and minorities which is partially why I chose this field. I truly want to make a difference. As far as background, I have done an externship with the Texas Speaker of the House; I am involved in organizations such as L.U.L.A.C., Rotaract, Phi Theta Kappa, and have been President of the Student Government Association for my College for the past year. Every organization I’m in does community service apart from what I do more outside of school like Reading Partners. This life is my passion.
