About Me
Since I had made the decision to begin attending college atage 22, my mind has expanded into a new world I had no idea I would enter. Bothof my parents objected to the idea of me furthering my education. In theireyes, I was better off working at any job I could get into, until I found arich husband to take care of me. I followed their instructions besides thelatter, which I am too independent of a person to fit into that kind oflifestyle. I worked at variousdead-end jobs for four years and had lost hope for my future. A friendsuggested I go to school so I could work at a job I enjoyed. Money was anissue. However I went down to the financial aid office to see if there were anyprograms I would be applicable for. In the past 4yrs I have been going to school part time, Ihave re-evaluated what I want to do with my future. I have finally decided onan Accounting/Business degree. I am attending a certificate program forAccounting, and at the beginning of the Fall semester I will be just sixclasses shy of an A.S. in Business. I am hoping that I will be lucky enough to receive ascholarship so that I could pay for living expenses and hopefully put a dent inthe amount of student loans I now have. It would help me greatly and Iappreciate the consideration.

About Me
I am a very hard-working student and I try my best to excel in all my endeavors. I currently am attending Florida State University with a 3.977 GPA. I have made straight A's thus far and am currently a Junior. I am employed by the Florida State University Libraries as of August 2010, but am still in need of money. I'm trying really hard not to burden my parents. They've given everything for me and it is the least I can do to reciprocate by financially burdening them as little as possible. Currently I am a part of Phi Eta Sigma and the American Library Association on campus. I graduated Cum Laude in High school with a 4.23 GPA. Was a member of Band, French Club, a part of the School paper, Anime Club, Writing Club and have won various awards through all of them and have held various leadership positions such as Band President, Librarian and Clarinet & Bass Clarinet Section Leader; French Historian, Journalism Financial Editor, etc. I also do my best to serve the community having participated in 2 Aids Walks, 1 Cancer Walk, a coastal cleanup of the St. Marks shores after a hurricane wash up. I have also helped collect littered recyclables from my local park. I have volunteered at various fundraisers to raise money for band. I have also helped host a Coffee House poetry read to raise funds for charities, etc. |
